A Room with a View
Newly built, we opened on 1 January 2007 just in time for our first sun seekers to soak up the Nelson sun during their summer holiday.
Named "A Room with a View", the separate self contained apartment was purpose built to accommodate travellers and in particular, anyone wanting a hands-on artistic experience with an experienced potter and teacher. Paul Laird is a second generation artist with over 30 years in the craft.
Intimate and romantic, this well appointed hillside retreat is situated in Nelson city overlooking the beach to the mountains. Being self contained accommodation, this makes it ideal for your honeymoon or just the privacy or solace you require away from the hectic pace of life. Soak in the bath looking out to the harbour entrance or have a glass of something on your roof deck with 180 degree views.
The vista takes in the Waimea plains to the south where some of the regions finest wines are grown. Across to Tasman in the west where hops are grown for a range of locally brewed beers. Walking distance to the beach for safe swimming and sunbathing during the day, and at night, a stroll to our famous waterfront restaurant of your choice. For those wishing to venture out, we are just a 10 minute drive to town or a 30 minute walk along the waterfront and for the more adventurous, we are under an hour's drive to the Able Tasman National Park.
