Where to from Wellington?

Your Wellington hotel accommodation may house you each night but there is no reason for you to stay within the city limits.  There are plenty of fun activities and things to see outside of the city so don’t hesitate to hop in your Wellington Airport car rental and hit the road!

For those who are feeling withdrawal symptoms from the distance between themselves and their home golf course, the Ohariu Valley Golf Course would be more than happy to receive you.  There really is nothing like enjoying the challenges that a fresh course brings.

There are also plenty of reserves and parks just north of Wellington. Battle Hill Farm Forest Park, Harcourt Park and Kaitoke Regional Park are all situated fairly close to one another and they aren’t too far from Wellington itself.

A trip from Wellington to Palmerston North will take you just under 2 hours while driving to Napier will take about 4 hours.  There’s plenty to see along the way so make sure that you allow extra time to stop, sightsee and grab a snack.

Wellington is also the crossing point from the north to the south island. The Inter-island Ferry will take you and your car, if desired, across to Picton.  Feel free to explore this lovely area and possibly take a drive to Blenheim before returning to Wellington.
