Lake Waikaremoana Walks, New Zealand
Lake Waikaremoana is located high in the mountains of Te Urewera National Park. Around the lake the Lake Waikaremoana hiking trail is selected as one of New Zealand's Great Walks.
The shoreline of Lake Waikaremoana follows a circuit around extensive peninsulas and deep protected coves. Panekiri Bluffs lies on the southern shoreline of Lake Waikaremoana. There are magnificent views over the lake. Enclosing the lake is Te Urewera National Park, the 4th largest national park in New Zealand.
