Nelson Lakes National Park Walks, New Zealand
Nelson Lakes National Park was originally designated as a National Park in 1956. Located at the northern end of the Southern Alps, Nelson Lakes National Park is only about 1 hour 15 minutes drive from both Blenheim and Nelson.
Popular with day walkers and overnight hikers or trampers, Nelson Lakes National Park is centred on the small town of St Arnaud, which nestles beside Lake Rotoiti. Nelson Lakes National park offers a variety of terrain from peaceful beech forest and rocky mountain passes, to glacial valleys with crystal clear streams and lakes.
