Taranaki Region in New Zealand is dominated by the imposing Mt Taranaki and Egmont National Park. There are many gardens of national significance, with the Taranaki Rhododendron & Garden Festival a highlight each spring. Taranaki's spectacular coast line is popular with surfers, with some of New Zealand's best surf breaks. As well as Mt Taranaki and Egmont National Park, there are some great coastal walkways.
