Our New Zealand Independent coach tours can be adapted or extended according to your requirements. So if you want to stay longer at any place on the itinerary, let us know, ALL itineraries can be amended.

Auckland - Bay of Islands - Cape Reinga - Hokianga - Paihia - Auckland

New Zealand Bay of Islands Tour - Culture at its best - insights, myths and legends. You travel independently using scheduled coach, rail and ferry services.

Day 1: Auckland - Bay of Islands

Cross the Waitemata Harbour travelling north to Whangarei and Paihia. Upon arrival in Paihia visit the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.  The afternoon is at your leisure for optional activities, such as a visit to quaint Russell. Stay 3 nights in Paihia.

Day 2: Paihia - Cape Reinga - Paihia

Venture North to Cape Reinga via Puketi Kauri Forest, viewing giant Kauri trees, to where the Tasman Sea and Pacific Ocean meet. Zoom along Ninety Mile Beach. Stop for sightseeing and refreshments (own expense).

Day 2: Paihia - Hokianga - Paihia

Journey across to Opononi, meet a local maori guide and hear stories of their history and culture. Continue into Waipoua Forest and get up close to 'Tane Mahuta', New Zealand's famous giant Kauri Tree. Time for a lunch break (not included) before returning to the Bay of Islands late afternoon. * This tour is subject to availability.

Day 4: Cruise - Bay of Islands - Auckland

Cruise the Bay through the intriguing Hole in the Rock. Board your waiting coach and travel back to Auckland once more.

Tour Bonus - Your free tour bonus is a free Culture North Show or between May - Sep a lunch on the Cape Reinga Day Tour.
