Flexible Itineraries

Our New Zealand Independent coach tours use regular motorcoach, train and ferry services and can be adapted or extended according to your requirements. So if you want to stay longer at any place on the itinerary, let us know, ALL itineraries can be amended.

If you do not find a Tour that suits you, just ask us to provide you with a personalised coach touring holiday

Auckland - Wellington - Napier - Rotorua - Auckland

This New Zealand North Island Tours of the north has it all, stunning scenery, Overlander Train journey, cultural experiences and wine... You travel independently using scheduled coach, rail and ferry services.

Day 1: Auckland - Wellington

Board the Overlander train for a full day journey from Auckland to Wellington.

*Please note, over winter the Overlander train schedule is decreased - in this situation an express coach will replace the train. 

Follow the Waikato River southwards, negotiate the Raurimu Spiral, skirt around Mt Ruapehu in Tongariro National Park, and then descend from the central plateau to the Kapiti Coast and Wellington. Stay 2 nights in Wellington.

Day 2: In Wellington

A morning tour of the city will take in the Parliament Buildings, Old St Paul's Cathedral, Mt Victoria and an optional ride on the cable car. This afternoon enjoy your  guided tour of Te Papa.

Day 3: Wellington - Napier

Board your coach and travel via Palmerston North and the Manawatu Gorge to the vineyards of the Hawkes Bay. You will be met and taken on a tour of the vineyards and the Napier district.  Stay 1 night in Napier.

Day 4: Napier - Rotorua

This morning is free to explore the art deco city. Continue across the Rangitaiki Plains to Lake Taupo then north past the steam fields of Wairakei to Rotorua, steeped in Maori culture and history. Tonight enjoy a Maori Hangi (feast) and concert. Stay 2 nights in Rotorua.

Day 5: In Rotorua

This morning  see roaring geysers and boiling mud pools at the thermal area, tame trout at the springs and performing sheep and dogs at the Agrodome. Your afternoon is free, there are many activities to enjoy.

Day 6: Rotorua - Auckland

Travel to Waitomo for a tour of the limestone caves. Cruise below a galaxy of glow-worms. Continue north via Hamilton, alongside the Waikato River to Auckland. You arrive late afternoon.

Our hotels are centrally located and have a selection of restaurants and bars and other facilities expected in first class rooms.
Silver
These properties include a variety of international chain hotels and traditional New Zealand hotels or Motor Inns.  As with all our accommodations, they are centrally located and provide on site restaurants and bars and other facilities are maintained to high standard.
Bronze
You stay at centrally located hotels and motels. All properties are situated near amenities, shops, activities and coach stations/depots.

All Gold, Silver and Bronze accommodation includes

TV in room, telephone in room, ironing facilities, fridge in unit and breakfast available. Deluxe/Superior also includes room service and a licenced restaurant.
