Our New Zealand Independent coach tours can be adapted or extended according to your requirements. So if you want to stay longer at any place on the itinerary, let us know, ALL itineraries can be amended.

Auckland - Waitomo - Rotorua - Tongariro National Park - Wellington (or Auckland)

Auckland to the thermal wonderland of Rotorua, down to beautiful Lake Taupo and then into the mountainous Tongariro National Park for some amazing hiking adventures on this North Island Tours New Zealand..

Day 1: Auckland - Waitomo - Rotorua

Travel south from Auckland through lush Waikato farmland to Waitomo Caves for a boat ride under a galaxy of glow-worms. Continue east to Rotorua, steeped in Maori culture and history.

Tonight enjoy a Maori Hangi (feast) and concert.  Stay 1 night in Rotorua.

Day 2: Rotorua - Lake Taupo

This morning see roaring geysers and boiling mud pools at the thermal area, tame trout at the springs and performing sheep and dogs at the Agrodome. This afternoon drive south past the steam fields of Wairakei to Lake Taupo in the centre of the North Island. Stay 1 night in Taupo.

Day 3: Taupo - Tongariro National Park

A guided tour will take you to the mighty Huka Falls, Wairakei, the Aratiatia Rapids and the Craters of the Moon. In the afternoon you skirt the lake towards Tongariro National Park and climb the slopes of Mt Ruapehu, an active volcano. Stay 1 night in Tongariro National Park.

Day 4: Tongariro National Park - Auckland or Wellington
The morning is free to explore one of the many short walks available. The park headquarters will advise on routes.

In the afternoon board the Overlander train to journey to either Auckland or Wellington (advise when booking), arriving in the evening.

*Please note, over winter the Overlander train schedule is decreased - in this situation an express coach will replace the train.

Gold
Our hotels are centrally located and have a selection of restaurants and bars and other facilities expected in first class rooms.
Silver
These properties include a variety of international chain hotels and traditional New Zealand hotels or Motor Inns.  As with all our accommodations, they are centrally located and provide on site restaurants and bars and other facilities are maintained to high standard.
Bronze
You stay at centrally located hotels and motels. All properties are situated near amenities, shops, activities and coach stations/depots.

All accommodation includes
TV in room, telephone in room, ironing facilities, fridge in unit and breakfast available. Deluxe/Superior also includes room service and a licenced restaurant.
