Today on arrival, you'll be met and transferred to your Auckland hotel.

Day 2. Auckland, Bay of Islands
This morning visit the Matakohe Pioneer Museum, home to the world's largest collection of kauri gum. Continue to the majestic Waipoua Kauri Forest Reserve. Travel to the Bay of Islands National Maritime Park. On arrival enjoy a guided visit to the historic Waitangi Reserve.

Day 3. Bay of Islands at Leisure
Enjoy a day in the subtropical Bay of Islands, home to 144 beautiful islands. (B)
Day 4. Bay of Islands, Auckland
Explore New Zealand's finest national maritime park on a catamaran cruise to Cape Brett and the famous Hole in the Rock. Sail through game fishing waters to view the Cape Brett lighthouse then make passage through the hole. Meander through the inner islands, viewing sandy beaches, rocky outcrops and visit a secluded bay. Return this afternoon to Auckland.

Day 5. Auckland, Waitomo, Rotorua, Hangi Feast
Leaving the City of Sails, travel south through the Waikato Province to Waitomo Caves. Here take a guided tour of the underground limestone caverns, lit by thousands of glow-worms. Tonight in Rotorua, immerse yourself in a Maori Hangi feast and cultural performance of traditional song and dance.

Day 6. Explore Rotorua
Today experience the attractions of Rotorua. Visit Te Puia Thermal Reserve. Enjoy a guided tour through the Maori Arts and Crafts Institute and continue to the Agrodome. The remainder of today is at leisure. Country Homestay option available tonight (B, D)
Day 7. Rotorua, Taupo, Napier
Travel via Wairakei Park, Huka Falls and Lake Taupo to Napier. On arrival, take a city tour with a guided Art Deco walk.

Day 8. Napier, Wellington
Travel via Hastings and follow the Kapiti Coast to Wellington.
Stay: Wellington Kingsgate Hotel (B, D)
Day 9. Wellington, Picton
Take a city tour then visit The Museum of New Zealand. Later, cruise across Cook Strait to the South Island.
Stay: Picton, Beachcomber Inn (B, D)
Day 10. Picton, Depart Christchurch
Travel via Kaikoura to Christchurch, where your tour concludes and you are transferred to the airport. (B)
