Can I take photographs inside both caves?

Photography and video are not permitted inside Waitomo Glowworm Caves. They are allowed in parts of Ruakuri Cave, subject to your cave guide’s directions.

If making glowworm photographs is the main reason for your trip, the separate Private Glowworm Cave Photography Tour is designed for that purpose and starts near Te Kuiti at 1199 Oparure Road, which is about 25 minutes drive from Waitomo.
