The tour follows a combination of established cycle trails, gravel paths and quieter sections of road through the Central Otago landscape. Conditions can vary between smooth, well-maintained trail surfaces and rougher or uneven sections, so riders should be comfortable handling a bike on different types of terrain. The e-bike makes changes in gradient easier to manage, while the relatively relaxed pace allows you to enjoy the scenery, historic gold-mining landscapes, rivers and dramatic gorges along the way.
