Passengers should arrive at our base 10 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

Frequently asked questions

Before departure:

  • Clean and seal your bags tightly after packing to ensure they’re free of stowaways such as ants, skinks, soil, seeds, mice, or rats.
  • Pack food at the source in sealed, pest-proof containers. Ensure cardboard boxes are securely closed and taped to prevent pests from accessing them.
  • Inspect any camping or stored gear thoroughly for signs of pests, as stored items are high risk.

Passengers must declare any dangerous goods. While many can be transported, some are prohibited, and carrying them may result in prosecution.

Yes, individual passenger weights are required. If a passenger’s weight exceeds 110 kg, please inform our staff prior to the flight.

  • Each passenger is allowed up to 15 kg of luggage.
  • Luggage over 5 kg must be declared to Auckland Seaplanes before check-in.
  • For luggage exceeding 15 kg, notify Island Aviation staff in advance to make arrangements.
  • Footwear: Closed shoes are a must, as we land at various locations with differing facilities and terrain.
  • Clothing: Dress appropriately for the weather. The cabin temperature will be similar to the conditions outside.

There are no specific age restrictions, but all passengers must wear a seatbelt at all times during the flight.

Yes, we offer a wide range of Family Adventures across the North Island. Minimum age requirements vary by destination to ensure the activities suit each age group. More adventurous destinations may have higher age restrictions.
