Queen Charlotte Track Bike Trail in NZ
The Queen Charlotte Track has recently been included in the Great Bike Rides of New Zealand. The Queen Charlotte Track meanders 70km from Anakiwa to historic Ship Cove, where Captain Cook stopped to protect his fleet in the course of his expeditions to New Zealand.
As you cycle along ridges, around famous inlets and through verdant forest, you will be rewarded by unrivalled panoramic views of Kenepuru and Queen Charlotte Sounds. Whilst biking, look out for the indigenous bird life including tui, South Island saddleback, bellbird, silvereye and the inquisitive weka.
Using the shuttle boat taxi from Picton, you can explore the soul of the Marlborough Sounds by cycling the complete route, or sectors of your choice. Luggage can even be conveyed by boat each day between lodgings.
