Rangitikei River Rafting
At River Valley, exploring the rivers is a true passion. Since 1982, we have shared this very passion with others in the form of thrilling river rafting. Over the years, and three generations, our love of such activities has been passed on. Two of those generations are, in fact, still regularly guide visitors.
We enjoy regular rafting trips on two New Zealand Rivers. The Rangitikei is our home river, whilst the Ngaruroro is located in Hawkes Bay, just over the range.
These two rivers allow us to offer visitors a variety of trips. These trips range from half day adventures on the Rangitikei's Grade 5 section and more relaxing family friendly float trips on other parts of the same river. We also have multi day wilderness trips on the Rangitikei and Ngaruroro Rivers.
Multi Day River Trips
With multi day river trips, there are some new elements that come into play. The trips are not just about the adrenaline rush of navigating the wild waters but about the experience in general. Enjoying the days and nights on the river, taking in those natural surroundings and meeting new people is all part of the fun.
If you have already enjoyed a half or full day trip in the past, we strongly suggest that you consider a multi-day river trip.
Our Location
River Valley is located in New Zealand's North Island Rangitikei District. It is close to the central North Island Town, Taihape and this area is particularly well known for its breathtakingly beautiful scenery and fertile farmlands.
Take care when driving on our country roads. You will likely be surprised by the number, and size, of the other vehicles you will encounter along the way.
A Great Place to Break the Journey!
River Valley Lodge is the perfect place to enjoy a break from your journey between Rotorua or Taupo, and Wellington since it's located at the halfway point.
