Akaroa and Lyttleton Shore Excursions

Are you stopping at Lyttelton or Akaroa on a Cruise Ship? Then take one of our Akaroa or Lyttleton Cruise Ship Excursions and explore the Banks Peninsula, Christchurch and Canterbury region in New Zealand.

Akaroa Port

Akaroa is a charming historic town, known for its distinctly French flair. It is located on the eastern shores of New Zealand’s South Island and lies on the volcanic Banks Peninsula, about an hour’s drive from Christchurch.

The Akaroa Harbour is home to a diversity of wildlife, secluded beaches, and quaint shops. In town, the most popular activity is the Black Cat wildlife cruise, where you will get the chance to see New Zealand’s Hector Dolphins.

Lyttelton Port

Lyttelton is New Zealand’s principle deep-water port located about 12 kilometres from Christchurch by a tunnel under the Port Hills. Though it was damaged during the 2011 earthquake, it remains a beautiful port town with breathtaking views of the harbour and surrounding hills.

From these ports you can easily access Christchurch and visit its popular attractions like the Tram, International Antarctic Centre, and the River Avon where you can go punting. You can also explore its many nearby attractions like Arthur’s Pass and the Northern Canterbury wine region.
