Bay of Islands Food & Wine

The subtropical Northland is not only a place of historical significance, but it is also well-known for its fresh produce and delectable wine. Bay of Islands is home to the very first vines that were planted in New Zealand in 1819. Croatian gumdiggers arrived in Northland and brought with them the European tradition of winemaking, which became the foundation of the country’s wine industry.

Join our unique Bay of Islands Food and Wine tours from Paihia and have the opportunity to meet local producers who are passionate about wine. We will take you across breathtaking farmlands, vineyards, backcountry roads on a 4x4 vehicle or a Mustang V8! Tours can also include visits to Kawakawa train town, Russell vineyards, Kawiti Glow Worm caves, and many more.
