Stewart Island Tours & Activities
The third largest and southernmost island in New Zealand, Stewart Island is an adventurer's paradise. This tiny island is the perfect destination to get away from the crowds and experience untouched natural surroundings. Home to the Raikura National Park, which takes up roughly 85% of the entire island, Stewart Island tours and activities include hiking, fishing, wildlife encounters, and plenty of water-related activities like diving and sea kayaking.
Hop on a Paterson Inlet Cruise and learn about early Maori history and European settlement in the area. This trip includes a 45-minute walk at the well-known wildlife sanctuary, Ulva Island.
If you're feeling extra adventurous, you can try a shark cage diving experience from Bluff. If you're not ready to go cave diving yet, you can join a sightseeing day tour and view sharks and other wildlife from a deck. About 8km off the cost of Oban, Stewart Island, there are about 100 individual animals so, the chance of spotting whites is quite high!
