Taupo Tours and Activities
Taupo is home to plenty of award-winning activities and awe-inspiring natural landscapes. It is located on Lake Taupo, the largest lake in Australasia.
It is a great base for outdoor activities like fishing, boating, hiking the nearby Tongariro National Park, canoeing, and many more.
A great way to appreciate the Great Lake Taupo is to sail around the lake and onto the famous Maori Rock Carvings. There are options for morning, afternoon, and evening sailings.
While in Taupo, hiking the Tongariro Alpine Crossing is an opportunity you can’t miss. The Crossing is regarded as one the of the world’s best day hikes. It features breath-taking landscapes, active geothermal areas, and beautiful emerald lakes. You can try a full day hike or a quick sunrise/sunset trip if you’re short on time.
