Bus Pass New Zealand

The flexipass® bus pass by InterCity Coachlines™ is just what every independent traveller needs when visiting New Zealand.  This hop-on hop-off bus pass is based on travel hours rather than fixed itineraries.  You go where you want and see New Zealand on your own terms.

More than enough time to travel and explore New Zealand

Your flexipass® is valid for a whole 12 months from the activation date.  That gives you more than ample time to truly experience New Zealand and make the most of your travel hours.  Your pass will only be activated once you start booking travel and you can travel wherever you like on our network.  The top up option makes it easy for you to add hours to your pass if needed.

InterCity® is the largest national bus network in New Zealand.  It's no wonder since they offer more than 120 services to over 600 cities, towns and communities nationwide.

Backpacker Bus Pass With a flexipass®, your travel plans are really up to you.  You have the option of jumping off wherever you wish and you can book and/or change your trip up to 2 hours prior to departure on coach sectors without any penalties whatsoever.

There is no need to concern yourself with managing travel days or sectors.  You an travel 2 hours today, none the following day and another 7 hours the day after.  It's all up to you!  Since your bus pass is valid for 12 months from activation, there is no need for you to cram all of your travel hours into one trip or time frame.  You can take your time and make as many stops as you like.

Certain tours are fully included in your pass and there are no additional charges.  You simply need to deduct the hours and you are good to go.

Enjoy a cruise through the calm waters of the Bay of Islands as you watch the water for signs of dolphins, whales and other fascinating marine life.  The Hole in the Rock Dolphin Cruise welcomes passengers from Paihia and you only need to deduct 3.15 hours from your flexipass®.

Alternatively, you can enjoy the day travelling to the top of the North Island on the Cape Reinga and Ninety Mile Beach Tour.  Visit the ancient kauri tree, visit the spot where two oceans meet and if you are feeling somewhat adventurous, you can surf down the huge sand dunes in the area.  For all this, you only need to deduct 11 hours from your flexipass®.

The more hours you purchase on your flexipass®, the more cost effective each trip gets.  If you feel that you need a few more hours to continue exploring, you can use the top up options just like you would do with a pre-paid mobile phone.  It doesn't get any easier than that!

Your flexipass® also includes a number of GreatSights® and awesomeNZ® dedicated sightseeing day tours.  The pass covers the travel part of the tour and you will only need to pay for any optional extras.
