Overview
Abel Tasman National Park has always been a fascinating place to explore. It is renowned for its golden shores and carved granite headlands teeming with marine life. This Remote Coast Tour is a highly recommended one day adventure that lets you enjoy all your favourites!
Hop aboard for a comprehensive tour of the Tonga Island marine reserve, a fantastic day trip that covers the entire marine reserve from beginning to end. We depart Awaroa via a water taxi transfer that allows us to drop anchor at Shag Harbour (tide dependent), a secret inlet the likes of which are not found anywhere else in the Abel Tasman National Park. Kayaking south, we explore Tonga Island Marine Reserve and get to know its adorable denizens, the playful NZ fur seal, Kekeno. Picnic lunch is served in one of the stunning beaches, after which we visit the Tonga Arches, and head south picking our way along the sculptured granite headlands through to the peaceful lagoons and golden shores of the ‘heart of the park,’ Bark Bay, our final destination.
