1 Day Self Guided Roxburgh Gorge Cycle Trail

Discover one of the most unique landscapes in New Zealand in this 1 Day Cycle Adventure on the Roxburgh Trail. Enjoy some fantastic cycling and indulge in a relaxing and informative jet boat ride on the Clutha River as you zip past towering bluffs from Doctors Point to Shingle Creek. Roxburgh Trail offers more challenging rides than the Railtrail, and you may need to prepare for some uphill and downhill rides. For those not yet experienced in riding hills, pushing on some of the steeper sections of the trail is advised. You get rewarded with exhilarating views for all the effort.

Begin your day at the Depot in Clyde for bike fitting and tour briefing. Embark on a cycling adventure to Roxburgh Hydro Dam. Cycle from Clyde to Alexandra, either 8km on the Rail Trail or 14km along the scenic river track. Enter Roxburgh Gorge, cycling 10km to Doctors Point, where a jet-boat takes you to Shingle Creek. Discover historic gold mining relics as you navigate the gorge. Enjoy the commentary on gold mining history. Continue 11km to Roxburgh Hydro before being shuttled back to Clyde.
