Waterfalls, Volcanic Landscapes & Mountain Views
The highlight of the walk is Taranaki Falls, where water plunges 20 metres over an ancient lava flow created by eruptions from Mount Ruapehu thousands of years ago. The falls provide a stunning natural backdrop and one of the most photographed locations in Tongariro National Park.
Along the way, your guide will share insights into the region's volcanic history, unique alpine environment and rich Māori cultural heritage. Depending on the season, the walk concludes during the golden afternoon light, adding another memorable dimension to this spectacular alpine experience.
