This independent Roxburgh Clutha Deluxe cycle adventure is a 3 day/2 night tour on the Roxburgh Gorge and Clutha Gold Cycle Trails. Cycling on a vehicle free trail with a moderate gradient approximately 25-40kms per day. The Roxburgh Gorge Trail is quite a bit steeper than the Rail Trail therefore be prepared for some climbs and downhill’s. (The entire trail is able to be ridden but in some cases, for those not comfortable or experienced to riding hills the option of pushing some of the steeper sections is advisable.) The trail is wide and has a great surface. You will experience amazing scenery whilst travelling through remote gorges, lush farmland and following the majestic Clutha River. Stay in deluxe twin/double share accommodation at Roxburgh and Beaumont. Cyclists will also experience wonderful local cuisine and meet colourful local people.

Your adventure starts in Clyde where upon arrival at our depot you will be fitted with your bikes, briefed on your tour then start your cycling adventure to Roxburgh. From Clyde you can cycle past vineyards and over an old wooden trestle bridge on the ride to Alexandra. For the more adventurous, there is the option of riding on the Clutha River Centennial Track to Alexandra which adds another 8km to your cycle ride. Lunch options are available at Clyde or Alexandra (please note there are no refreshment stops between Alexandra and Roxburgh). From Alexandra you will connect with the start of the Roxburgh Gorge Trail and make your way to Doctors Point Boat Ramp. Here you will meet up with your boat operator who transfers you through to Shingle Creek. Relax on board the boat while you take in the stunning scenery and history of the area. Disembark at Shingle Creek where you continue on your cycle adventure to Roxburgh passing the Roxburgh Dam Lookout (a great opportunity for some stunning photos). Accommodation this night is in the township of Roxburgh.
Start your ride this morning from Roxburgh, along the Clutha Gold Trail following the Clutha River and on to Milers Flat for your overnight B&B accommodation. Lunch options are available to purchase at Roxburgh or Millers Flat.

After breakfast you will start your cycle journey from Millers Flat following through the Beamont Gorge, before leaving the Clutha River and heading inland through rolling farm land, passing through Tunnel Hill and onto your final destination of the historic goldmining township of Lawrence. You will have time to have a look around the town and have lunch before your transport later in the afternoon back to Clyde.
