North Island

Start: Auckland
Duration: 5 days

The 5 Day Auckland Family Escape is a four-night Auckland City package featuring the Tīkapa Moana Whale & Dolphin Wildlife Cruise, Waiheke ferry travel and ziplining, and Wētā Workshop Unleashed. Return airport transfers are included, while harbour sailing, Hobbiton, rainforest sightseeing and Auckland city adventures provide flexible alternatives and optional additions.

What Is Included in the 5 Day Auckland Family Escape?

The 5 Day Auckland Family Escape includes four nights in Auckland City, return airport transfers and a full-day Tīkapa Moana Whale & Dolphin Wildlife Cruise. Families also travel by ferry to Waiheke Island for three dual ziplines and a guided native forest walk. Wētā Workshop Unleashed adds interactive movie magic through fantasy, horror and science-fiction worlds.

The itinerary combines wildlife, harbour scenery, island nature and hands-on creativity while using one Auckland hotel as a convenient base. Staying in the city avoids repeated packing and keeps the waterfront and SkyCity attractions close at hand. Included experiences are balanced with flexible time for family dining and additional adventures.

How Can Families Personalise This Auckland Holiday?

Families can replace the Tīkapa Moana wildlife cruise with the shorter Auckland Harbour Sailing Cruise and enjoy additional free time in the city. Those choosing the harbour sailing alternative can upgrade to an America’s Cup Sailing Experience for a more active trip on the Waitematā Harbour. The Waiheke day can instead become a Hobbiton Express tour with Party Marquee lunch or a Best of Both Worlds journey through Auckland and the Waitākere Ranges.

Optional Auckland experiences include the Harbour Bridge Climb, Bridge Bungy, All Blacks Experience, SkyWalk and SkyJump. Weekend visitors aged 12 years and over can also add Intro to Worldbuilding or Intro to Scars and Scrapes at Wētā Workshop. Age, weight, weather and operating-day requirements should be checked when selecting experiences for each family member.
