Overview

Visit the third and southernmost island of New Zealand, Stewart Island, from the Milford Wanderer, a purpose-built vessel.

Most of the island is part of the Rakiura National Park and settlement on this island is mostly restricted to the only township, Oban. The hills are covered with dense forests, the untouched rugged coastline, sandy beaches and limited population make it a popular destination for those who seek a true wildlife and nature experience.

You begin your journey by cruising across from Bluff, across Foveaux Strait and then on to the eastern shore of Stewart Island. Once you board the Milford Wanderer, you will enjoy a total of six days cruising some of the most amazing waters in this part of the world. You will also have the opportunity to step on shore for guided walks and visit various sites of historic importance.

It is important to note that this is strictly a general guide. All itineraries are subject to change according to weather conditions and the professional judgement of the crew. This trip also includes plenty of cruising, kayaking and walking as and when time allows for extra activities.
