Leaving Picton at 10AM by water taxi through the Marlborough Sounds in New Zealand, on the Mistletoe Bay to Anakiwa Day Walk, you will reach Mistletoe Bay at around 10.15AM. From the Mistletoe Bay jetty, follow the road that takes you to the Te Mahia saddle, which connects you to the Queen Charlotte Track where you may commence your Anakiwa Wilderness Walk. Looking down into the water, you will retrace old bridle paths amidst regenerating forest. Take time to admire the lush ferns and delicate orchids shaded by kanuka, kamahi, manuka and nikau palms, which also shelter fantails, silver eyes, weka and many other endemic birds.
Towards the end of the tour, enjoy a leisurely hike through mature beech forest to Anakiwa where the Cobham Outward Bound School is located. Wait for pick up at the Anakiwa Jetty at 3.30PM for the trip back to Picton.
