From Christchurch, our top-of-the-line AWD Mercedes Bus takes you to your destination: the iconic Hermitage Hotel; the Museum, 3D Theatre and Digital Dome Planetarium; and the Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre. Admire the truly stunning scenery as you get closer to New Zealand’s Southern Alps and marvel at the sites of the Ben Ohau Range and Lakes Tekapo and Pukaki. You’ll also get to view several sites where the “Middle Earth” of the Lord of the Rings were filmed.
Inside the Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, get up close to the highest peak in New Zealand and marvel at its towering form. Later in the day, discover the wonders of the UNESCO World Heritage Area “Te Wāhipounamu” for a closer encounter with the Tasman Glacier. You may also choose to simply relax and spend some more time back at the Hermitage’s Retail Centre, the Alpine Centre, Mt. Cook Village or the Visitor Centre of the Department of Conversation where plenty of activities await. At the end of the tour, you’ll be collected at the end of the tour for the drive back to Christchurch.
