Tour Combo: Save $56

Explore the very best that Auckland has to offer as well as the historic Bay of Islands with this money saving two tour combo.

Day 1 – Auckland City Sights Morning Tour

Enjoy the morning visiting some of Auckland's most beautiful sights.  From the city streets to the harbour vistas, this is one unforgettable city.  Travel along Karangahape Road through the city centre.  Make you to the Auckland Harbour Bridge via Ponsonby and take the time to enjoy the stunning views of the urban skyline and Hauraki Gulf.  Make your way through the Viaduct Harbour and explore the famously busy Queen Street as you head for Auckland Domain, the oldest park in the city.  The Domain is known for its wonderful, large green spaces, formal gardens and native flora.  After exploring the park, the tour will then continue to Parnell Village where you will enjoy a brief morning tea.  This village is particularly known as a  stylish shopping destination and features include restored historic buildings that have been transformed into speciality, craft and boutique stores.

Next up is a ride along Tamaki Drive on the waterfront to the picturesque and peaceful Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park.  From here, you will be able to enjoy one of the most amazing views of the city and harbour.  The tour will then take you along the waterfront again and on to downtown Auckland.

Day 2 – Bay of Islands Dolphin Cruise

Beginning in Auckland, you will travel north on one of the comfortable and air conditioned deluxe coaches from GreatSights.  So, sit back and relax as you cast your eyes upon some of the North Island's most amazing scenery.

Once you arrive in Paihia, you will board the Dolphin Seeker, which is our purpose built catamaran licensed by the Department of Conservation for dolphin and whale viewing.  Take advantage of the ample outdoor viewing decks as we make our way past the islands of the Bay.  Watch the water for common and bottlenose dolphins, whales and other forms of local marine life as our skilled local skippers get you as close as possible to the action.

The cruise continues past the Cape Brett Lighthouse before arriving at the magnificent Hole in the Rock.  If weather conditions are suitable, your skipper will take you safely through the narrow space before heading back into the Bay's inner islands.  When you return to Paihia, you will board the coach for your return drive to Auckland.

An optional extra is a guided tour of the historic Waitangi Treaty Grounds.  This is the very spot where the Treaty of Waitangi was signed between the Maori and British Crown in 1840.  You will be able to explore the original Treaty House which is also one of the oldest and most visited historic homes in New Zealand.  Another fascinating attraction here is the Te Whare Runanga, a fully carved Maori meeting house.  This house represents all of the Iwi (regional tribes) in New Zealand.

Important info:  This tour combo must be taken over two consecutive days and in the above-mentioned order.  In addition, it is important to note that accommodation in Auckland is not included with this tour combo.
