Overview

Departing Auckland, enjoy a one day Auckland to Rotorua via Waitomo Caves Small Group Tour One Way of the enchanting Waitomo Glowworm Caves in New Zealand and the incredible geothermal gems of Rotorua on a one-way trip.

Get ready to be picked up by our comfortable 12-seater mini-bus from your accommodation and be driven through the beautiful Waikato countryside as you make your way to Waitomo Caves along with a guide. During the drive, expect to spot a range of farm animals, marvel at stunning mountains, and experience New Zealand’s longest river.

Arriving at Waitomo, you will encounter a series of stunning cave formations including stalagmites, stalactites and lime columns as you get deeper into the caves that have been around for millions of years. You then go down further underground to begin your journey into the glowworm grotto aboard a boat. Cruise on the river with thousands of glowworms overhead that are found only in New Zealand. The Waitomo Glowworm Caves have enchanted visitors for more than 120 years, and they remain a must-see for any visitor to the region.

Moving on south to Rotorua, expect to encounter varied animals, hydro dams and rivers and a string of other attractions as we continue our fully guided adventure. On reaching Rotorua, we will show you around many of its famous and historical landmarks like The Government Gardens, the Polynesian Spa, thermal springs, Blues Bath and its namesake Lake Rotorua, before transferring you to your accommodation or a central Rotorua location.
