Kaiteriteri to Awaroa Lodge Sail & Cruise

This one-way Abel Tasman sail and cruise travels from Kaiteriteri Beach to Awaroa, combining a skippered morning sail with an afternoon water-taxi transfer. Check-in is at 9:30am for the 10:00am departure, arriving at Awaroa Beach around 2:00pm. Operating October–mid-April, it includes sailing, water taxi, packed lunch, tea and coffee, luggage transfer and an optional self-guided walk, and suits couples and families staying at Awaroa Lodge who want the journey to be part of their Abel Tasman experience.

Sail into Abel Tasman Before Continuing to Awaroa

Begin at Kaiteriteri Beach and spend around 2.5 hours sailing north along the Abel Tasman coast. Golden beaches, secluded coves and clear coastal waters unfold from the catamaran, with Split Apple Rock providing one of the journey’s signature sights. Your skipper adds local insight into the national park as you travel, while a packed picnic lunch and complimentary tea and coffee make the journey an experience in its own right.

After time at Anchorage, continue north by water taxi through the Tonga Island Marine Reserve towards Awaroa. Rather than simply transferring directly to the lodge, you experience two very different perspectives of the coastline in one journey. Those wanting to add some time on foot can arrange to leave the water taxi at Tonga Quarry and follow the 4.7 km coastal track through native forest to Awaroa, while your luggage is transferred ahead.
