Overview
Experience Far North’s most popular and postcard-worthy site on a Bay of Islands Explorer Small Group Tour from Auckland, New Zealand. Comprising more than 140 dreamy sub-tropical islands, the Bay of Islands is not only physically beautiful but also historically important: This is where the earliest contact between the native population and European settlers happened in New Zealand. We will collect you from your hotel and take you on a guided tour to the Bay of Islands.
After arriving at this beautiful place, join the Explore Discover the Bay trip and set off for a half-day cruise that will bring you within viewing distance of the dolphins (conditions permitting), to the iconic Hole in the Rock, and on a stunning bay island for BBQ lunch. Enjoy all of these during the cruise as we show around the spectacular area.
Following the cruise, we may have a chance to visit the historical town of Russel which was the first capital of New Zealand, or include a tour of the Waitangi grounds where the English and local Maori signed the Treaty of Waitangi.
We cap off the tour with a leisurely drive back to Auckland, stopping along the way for a few surprises.
