Exploring Blumine Island’s Unique Wildlife Sanctuary
Your 1.5-hour stopover allows time to wander the island’s lush tracks, listening to the calls of Kērēru, Tomtits, Tūī, and Weka. Every step reveals another moment of discovery as the sounds of native birds echo through the forest. Guides also share a tried-and-true method for spotting the elusive Orange-fronted Kākāriki before you set foot on the island.
While there is no jetty, adding a touch of adventure when hopping on and off the vessel, the reward is worth the splash. After exploring, you’ll be picked up for a scenic cruise back to Picton, with breathtaking views of the Marlborough Sounds. The combination of wildlife encounters and stunning scenery makes this experience unforgettable.
