Overview

The Brodrick Pass Guided Walk and Landsborough River Rafting trip is the very definition of a backcountry experience through the heart of the beautiful Southern Alps. What better way to experience New Zealand's untouched wilderness than by embarking on this walk/raft combo? Our journey takes us across the Main Divide (on foot) before we float and paddle our way down the Landsborough River. On this fully guided trip, clients don't need to carry heavy backpacks. All the food and necessary equipment will be provided and transported.

The Brodrick Pass Guided walk begins in the Ruantaniwha Conservation Park and takes us along the Huxley Valley before we head north to Brodrick Pass (1630m). After making our way over the pass, the trail takes us down to the Landsborough Valley in Westland.

The Brodrick Pass journey is a rugged one that takes you along high alpine areas and parts of the country that are off the beaten track and not overrun with tourists.

The last 2 days are spent paddling and camping your way down the magnificent Landsborough Valley, you will glide past 10,000 ft mountains, hanging glaciers and through dense rainforests. A perfect mix of tranquility and pure adventure.

The Landsborough River is unique, running 60kms parallel to New Zealand's Southern Alps before meeting the sea at Haast in South Westland - a World Heritage Area. Its upper reaches are protected wilderness and provide spectacular glaciers, bush, river and mountain scenery.
