• 08:45 - Meet and greet in Lyttelton township
• 09:00 - Depart Lyttelton, travelling through the inner bays of Lyttelton Harbour to Governors Bay, over Gebbies Pass, and onto the Akaroa Highway near Lake Ellesmere. Enjoy views across the lake to the snow-capped Southern Alps, then proceed through Lake Forsyth and Little River, ascending to the Hill Top for panoramic views of Akaroa Harbour.
• 10:45 - Board the Canterbury Cat for a 2-hour nature and harbour cruise with Black Cat Cruises. Experience encounters with Hector’s dolphins, see volcanic sea cliffs, sea caves, penguins, and seals, all while learning about Akaroa’s history.
• 12:45 - Return from the cruise and transfer to Bully Hayes for an optional lunch at this popular local waterfront restaurant. Afterwards, explore Akaroa’s charming French settlement, its craft shops, and colonial buildings.
• 14:30 - Depart Akaroa, stopping at the Cheese factory in Barry’s Bay to taste some fine European style cheeses. Continue to Birdlings Flat, observe its pebble-covered beach and enjoy the southern coastal views. The journey continues through the Canterbury Plains and Christchurch's southern suburbs to the Sign of the Takahe, offering great views over Christchurch, the Canterbury Plains, and the Southern Alps.
• 17:00 - Return to Lyttelton township where your shuttle awaits to transfer you back to your cruise ship.
