Overview

There is something about the sea that soothes the soul, something you will discover on the Coromandel Coast & Cuisine Experience Full Day Tour as you follow the coastal track from Homunga Bay to Waihi Beach taking half a day. We set off for a winding walk around the east coast of south Coromandel, picking our way along the edges of cliffs, and encountering secret bays along edges lined with New Zealand native pohutukawa trees. Following a break for picnic lunch on the beach, wade in the water then return to Waihi Beach.

A visit to local award-winning Falls Retreat Bistro comes next. Tuck into a special ‘garden-to-plate’ food experience where the fresh, seasonal ingredients come directly from the restaurant’s huge garden. Top it all off with a glass of wine before returning through the Karangahake Gorge.

We make our way back inland for a visit to the land of award-winning ice cream! Join a brief tour around the farm at the Kowhai Creamery, then make some tough decision on which flavour of handmade gelato to pick. This delightful gelato is without equal and has earned some tasty accolades. It’s made with full cream milk from jersey cattle grazed on the lush Waikato pastures. At the end of this experience, you will have satisfied your sweet tooth, made unforgettable travel memories and enriched your soul.
