As an experienced rider, you seek something a bit more exciting than your average horse trek. Even if you have not been riding regularly, you have ridden extensively and you may have even owned your own horse at some stage. While on holiday, you seek the kind of riding adventure that will take you back in time to the moment you had your own horse. The absolute thrill and excitement of exploring such remote places on horseback is the kind of things dreams are made of on our High Country Enchantment Full Day Horse Trek in New Zealand.
Are you looking for a Full Day New Zealand Horse Trek that offers riders the chance to explore beautiful parts of the countryside on suitable horses and along good tracks? How about experienced guides to take them on an unforgettable journey and, since this High Country Enchantment Full Day Horse Trek caters for skilled riders only, you won’t have beginners slowing you down?
As an experienced rider, you are looking for an experience that will really stand out from other regular horseback riding treks. Perhaps you have not had the opportunity to ride a horse regularly but your extensive riding experience means that you are quite the expert. You may have even owned your own horse at some time and enjoyed its company.
While on holiday, are you looking for a trekking experience that will remind you of the times you had your own trusty steed? We can offer you the kind of thrilling pleasure horse ride through the countryside that dreams are made of.
Full Day treks are STRICTLY suitable for riders with extensive experience. If we believe that you do not have the required amount of experience, we will shorten the trek.
A Full Day Horse Trek could be just what you need. This ride (between 5 and 6 hours in the saddle), is the most demanding of all the trail rides that we offer. We explore some highly elevated areas and some of which are the highest of any trekking operation in the country. Weather conditions can change quite swiftly and this may affect our choice in terms of trails used on each particular day.
Should the weather allow, we will ride to the top of Pukeokahu which is 1,000 metres above sea level. While we call this a hill, others often refer to it as a mountain. Many of these trails are quite steep but the views from above are absolutely remarkable. Although, there’s no need to take our word for it when you can come out here to see for yourself!
During other times, we will make our way along the tracks by the Rangitikei River. Now, you are most likely considering all the reasons you shouldn’t go. You might not be in the mood for dealing with beginner riders, perhaps you feel like you’re a bit out of practice so you might feel sore afterwards or you could be concerned about getting a less than desirable horse.
We understand these and several other concerns that you may have. We are able to guarantee that no inexperienced riders will be joining you on this trek. It is strictly available for those with a reasonable amount of riding experience in order to ensure everyone’s pleasure.
The size of the group will be small, usually 2-3, but sometimes up to 8 (including your guide).
Your guides will take extra care to make sure that they match you with just the right horse and, as importantly, the right saddle. During the booking process, you can let us know what your particular requirements may be. In terms of saddles, we carry English, Western and Australian stock styles.
When it comes to horse selection, we will match your horse to you very carefully. Most of our horses are bred from Station hacks which are famously strong and sure footed.
If you are concerned about the weather on the day of your trek, don’t worry. We are prepared to provide you with a full refund of your payment should we find the weather to be unsafe or too unpleasant for riding.
