Furneaux Lodge to Punga Cove Day Walk

Leaving Picton, cruise to Furneaux Lodge where you get off and stop for coffee or brunch before commencing your Furneaux Lodge to Punga Cove Day Walk on the Queen Charlotte Track in New Zealand. From one end of the Endeavour Inlet to the other, this section of the Queen Charlotte Track follows the coastline and passes through regenerating native vegetation. This part of the walkway was once farmland, but nature has now taken over and the forest is once again thriving and filled with the chorus of birds.

Take some time to read the interpretation panels of this historic area that was once the location of an antimony mine. Keep walking around the coast past pasture land on both sides, then continue on through native forest. At your feet are views of the Inlet receding into the Main Queen Charlotte Sound.

Laze around on the the deck of the Boat Shed Café on arrival at Punga Cove Resort. Reflect on your walk while enjoying a well-earned beverage, then board your cruise vessel at around 4-4.30PM for the boat trip back to Picton, arriving at around 5.30-6PM.
