Glowing Adventures is away from the well-worn tourist path although the small towns of Otorohanga and Te Kuiti as well as the Waitomo Caves Village are just a short drive away. Experience the captivating scenery of natural New Zealand on this guided 3 hour Glowing Adventures Glow Worm Cave Photography tour where you will have plenty of time to enjoy the sights within the glow worm caves and outside.
Our photography tours are “private” and led by an experienced guide, so only your group are the participants of this tour that takes in no fewer than 2 and no more than four people.
Compared to the standard Glowing Adventures Eco-tour, our photography tours are a bit special as it focuses more on the breathtaking Mangapu Gorge as well as the cave's entrance and exict, giving you incredible photo opportunities that include capturing the mesmerising glow worms. New Zealand's Department of Conservation classifies the untouched cave system as an area of “International Significance,” a distinction shared by only one other cave system in the Waitomo district.
On this photography tour, bigger cameras are allowed as well as other equipment like small tripods. More important, you enjoy more freedom to take extra time for your photography than you would on our other tours. We understand the challenge and the time required in photographing glow worms, but we assure you that the results are nothing short of breathtaking!
- We put your safety at the top of our list, which is why some parts of the cave system are not included in our photography tours. For added safety, we also suggest that you carry all of your equipment in a backpack to free up your hands when moving up and down the tracks.
- Please understand that any equipment you take with you, you bring at your own risk.
- You need to be reasonably fit to join this tour. Hence, we don't recommend this to the elderly or anyone with mobility difficulties. There are boulders and hills to climb and streams to wade through.
- You would need your own transportation to get to us as we are not able to pick up passengers and not connected to the public transport network.
