This is a trip well worth getting excited about! In fact, there are no less than 10 major Grade 4 and 5 rapids on this 11km trip along with various other smaller rapids.

If you want a half day trip, then the Grade 5 portion of the Rangitikei River could be perfect. This trip is often referred to as one of the very best half day Grade 5 Rafting adventures in the world. Your journey on he Rangitikei begins with some easy and fun Grade 2 and 3 rapids. This will get you nicely warmed up for the action that awaits.
You will enjoy a ride of 2 to 3 hours over a distance of 11km as you take on rapids that start off easy and build in intensity in the gorge, where you will make your way over 10 major rapids ranging from Grade 3 to 5. These rapids follow each other closely over a short distance. Some are short and sharp and others continue for a few hundred meters.
Your trip will conclude just outside the front door to the River Valley Lodge where you can enjoy a hot shower. There's no need to change out of those wet clothes on the river banks! Many river guides agree that the Grade 5 rafting portion of the Rangitikei River is the perfect half day rafting trip. With an easy start and a great build up to a thrilling finish, what's not to love? Of course, you may have some questions.
In order to enjoy this trip, you will need to have an average fitness level since this will help you paddle the raft and work with your fellow rafters. You may fall out but it is important to note that 5% of people do find themselves exiting prematurely.
