North Island

Start: Waiheke Island
Duration: 4.5 hours
Minimum Age: 10

Scenic Wine Tastings and Coastal Island Views

Discover Waiheke Island on a relaxed 4.5-hour afternoon tour combining boutique wine, vineyard dining and beautiful coastal scenery. Travel along the island’s scenic northern route while your local guide shares stories about Waiheke’s landscapes, communities and winemaking heritage.

Visit two carefully selected vineyards to taste distinctive Waiheke wines produced in the island’s warm maritime climate. At the second vineyard, enjoy a generous platter-style lunch accompanied by a glass of wine in peaceful surroundings.

Explore Onetangi Beach and Oneroa Village

If time allows, continue to Onetangi Beach, a 1.87-kilometre stretch of golden sand bordered by mature pōhutukawa trees. Admire views across the Hauraki Gulf, take a short stroll along the foreshore and learn about the beach’s famous annual racing tradition.

The tour concludes at Matiatia Wharf or Oneroa Village, depending on your plans. You can return to Auckland on the ferry, spend time exploring Oneroa’s shops and galleries, or arrange to be dropped near a restaurant and enjoy dinner on Waiheke Island at your own expense.
