The Kepler Track Premium Package Independent Walk from Te Anau rewards hikers with breathtaking lake and mountain views in New Zealand, so don’t miss it!
You’ll see the best features of Fiordland placed front and centre while hiking the Kepler Track on a self-guided walk. Venture far into the remote Fiordland mountains and bask in the views from Mt. Luxmore. Gaze up at waterfalls and limestone formations that make every step on the track interesting. With all these features encountered along the way, Kepler Track is quickly becoming a “Must-Do” New Zealand experience like its older siblings. Because it was purposely built, the track is easy to follow and makes walking that much easier with steps, boardwalks and bridges.
Kepler Track is alive with native bird life. You most likely will meet the ‘kea’ – the only native alpine parrot in the world. They are known for their cheeky behaviour and likely to steal your bootlaces (and even your snacks) when given a chance, so be alert.
Completing the entire length of the Kepler Track entails walking it independently, which you can make a lot easier with our various transport options or packages. We’ll arrange your transport, and take care of your food, hut bookings and gear so you can focus your energy on having the best hiking experience possible.
The Kepler Track is a 60km/3night loop that has made it on the ‘Must Do’ list of New Zealand Great Walks. Many hikers, however, choose to cover the track over 2 nights/3 days and bypass the last 11kms as the scenery remains somewhat similar throughout the remainder of this track. This means your last day is going to be a longer hike of 22 kms from the Irisburn Hut to the Rainbow Reach carpark via a shallow river valley. For transport, we can book you a seat on the shuttle bus or water taxi; or relocate your car from Te Anau to Control Gates or Rainbow Reach car parks.
You drive your car to the start of the Kepler track, in your own time. We collect it from the car park and drive it to the end of the track while you’re walking. When you finish your walk, it’s waiting for you to drive away. You don’t have to meet us, pick us up, or adjust your plans.
If you have a rental car, we will contact your rental company and add our driver to your rental agreement. Whichever insurance option you have chosen will apply when we are driving too. This is free of charge and is no problem for most rental companies.
