What’s on the menu at the Tasting Room?
Lunch is served as a selection of smaller plates to share, followed by one larger dish chosen by each adult. The operator’s example menu lists three smaller dishes for the table, choices such as chicken, gnocchi or steak for the larger dish, and a vegetable side. Allow approximately 90 minutes for lunch. The dishes can change with the season and ingredient availability, while the child package includes pizza.
Tell us about dietary requirements or allergies when booking, so they can be passed to the restaurant before departure. The restaurant will try to accommodate dietary needs but cannot guarantee dishes are entirely free of allergens because of possible cross-contact.
What else can you do at Man O’ War?
Before or after lunch, ask about an additional guided wine tasting, relax on the beachfront lawn or swim at Man O’ War Bay. Tastings should be arranged with the Man O’ War team and are separate from the included arrival glass. The Waiheke Island guide has more ideas for exploring the island.
Forest Flight is a separate, approximately two-hour experience with three dual ziplines and a forest walk. How long do you get at Man O’ War Bay?
The currently confirmed Cruise & Dine sailing allows 3 hours 55 minutes ashore, from 10:45am to 2:40pm. This gives time for the approximately 90-minute lunch and a look around the bay before returning to the wharf. The published summer ferry schedule allows 3 hours 5 minutes to 5 hours 20 minutes ashore, depending on the sailing; confirm which of those departures offers the dining package when booking.
Is Cruise & Dine suitable for kids?
Yes. Children 5–15 years can book the child package, which includes ferry travel and pizza instead of the adult sharing menu. Children under five travel free but do not receive a meal, so families should plan their food in advance. Children must travel with a paying adult. Once ashore, families can use the lawn and beach alongside their restaurant visit.
Where does the ferry leave from?
Check in at the Explore Booking Kiosk in Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour, at the end of Quay Street, diagonally opposite the New Zealand Maritime Museum. Arrive at least 15 minutes before departure. The ferry crosses the Hauraki Gulf via Rotoroa Island and continues to Man O’ War Bay; a day ashore on Rotoroa is a separate ferry trip.
- The adult package, for ages 16 and over, includes return ferry travel, a glass of Tulia Blanc de Blanc on arrival, and lunch at the Tasting Room.
- The child package, for ages 5–15, includes return ferry travel and pizza, with no wine.
- Children aged 0–4 travel free, but no meal is included for them; include them in the booking and arrange their food separately.
- Additional wine, tastings and other purchases cost extra.

**The operator may change or cancel a sailing if sea or weather conditions, safety, or minimum numbers require it. If the operator cancels and an alternative date cannot be arranged, its terms provide for a refund, subject to Go New Zealand’s 5% administration and processing deduction.
