Upon arrival in Auckland, you will make your way to the vehicle depot to collect your motorhome rental.

The drive from Auckland to Bay Of Islands takes around 3.5 hours.

Allow extra time for sightseeing and experience the bohemian charm of Puhoi and take in fresh sea air in Whangarei. Don't miss the world-famous Hundertwasser toilets in Kawakawa. Enjoy the native bush and golden beaches before arriving in Paihia.

Bay of Islands, known as the "winterless north of New Zealand," boasts over 140 subtropical atolls, untouched beaches, and abundant marine life. Explore remote stretches of sand, cruise the famous Hole in the Rock, and visit the historic sites of Russell and Waitangi, where the Treaty of Waitangi was signed in 1840.

Driving from Paihia back to Auckland via Hokianga is a slightly longer but more scenic route. Along the way, you can stop at the historic town, enjoy panoramic views of the Hokianga Harbour, visit the ancient Waipoua Kauri Forest, and enjoy Opononi's tranquil beaches. The route also offers stunning views of the Tasman Sea and the rugged coastline.

Continue on the road back to Auckland, where you will stay the night.

Embark on a scenic drive from Auckland to Rotorua and make a stop at Hobbiton, the iconic movie set from the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Immerse yourself in the magical world of Middle-earth before continuing your journey to Rotorua, known for its geothermal wonders and Maori culture.

Explore Rotorua's geothermal wonders at Waimangu Volcanic Valley and relax at the Polynesian Spa's deluxe spa pool. Immerse yourself in Maori culture and feast on a traditional hangi dinner while enjoying a concert at Te Pa Tu.

Today is another full day for you to explore Rotorua.

Rotorua is a geothermal wonderland known for its bubbling mud pools, steaming geysers, and thermal hot springs. You can explore its unique landscape through hiking trails, gondola, helicopter tours, or visiting nearby attractions like Wai-O-Tapu and Redwoods Treewalk to experience their thrilling zipline and canopy tour.

Today, you will drive through Rotorua's thermal region, then to Taupo to see the giant crater formed by a volcanic eruption in 180 CE. Leaving Taupo, you drive through the Ahimanawa Range and descend back down the Pacific Coast onto Napier's, the Art Deco capital of New Zealand.

Hawke's Bay, with its Mediterranean climate and charming Art Deco architecture, offers a delightful holiday experience. Known as the first winemaking region in the country, visitors must not miss the opportunity to explore one of its picturesque wineries.

Architecture enthusiasts can embark on a unique adventure by taking a ride on a vintage 1930's car, enjoying a guided tour of the city's prominent Art Deco landmarks, and learning about their fascinating history. Whether you are a wine connoisseur or a lover of architecture, Hawke's Bay has something to offer for everyone.

Depart early and set off south to Martinborough and the Wairarapa region, famous for its wineries and beautiful vineyards. Sample some of the premium local wines; before driving the short distance to New Zealand's capital city, Wellington.

Wellington is compact, cultured and full of character; sprawled over the hills surrounding Wellington Harbour. A vibrant city, filled with cafes, restaurants, museums, theatre and all kinds of shops. In your spare time don't miss out on visiting Te Papa- Museum of New Zealand and take a cable car for great views over the city and harbour.

Recently named the "coolest little capital in the world" by Lonely Planet, Wellington is nestled between a sparkling harbour and rolling green hills and is renowned for its arts, heritage, culture and native beauty. A visit to Te Papa National Museum, a ride on the famous Cable Car or a visit to Weta Workshop is highly recommended. If you like action-packed adventure activities, Wellington has it all along with beautiful walks around the harbour and surrounding hills.

Discover Zealandia Eco-Sanctuary, a predator proof oasis inside Wellington city, where rare and endangered native birds such as the Hihi, Tieke, Kaka, Tui, Karariki and Koromiko (Bellbird); as well as native flora flourish. You can take a Zealandia by Day tour to explore the park; or in the evening take a Zealandia by Night tour, and listen to the evening chorus, or possibly see one of the 130 little spotted kiwi who inhabit the park.

As you leave Wellington, follow the west coast road and take in the rugged beauty of the Tasman Sea. Pass through charming seaside towns like Paekakariki and Paraparaumu before reaching the Kapiti Coast. Continue north, passing through quaint villages and stunning beaches until you reach Tongariro National Park, home to the iconic Mt. Tongariro, Mt. Ngauruhoe (also known as Mt. Doom in the Lord of the Rings movies) and Mt. Ruapehu.

The scenic drive from Tongariro National Park to Hamilton via Waitomo Caves takes you through the heart of New Zealand's North Island.
