The ultimate Helibike adventure awaits at the Old Ghost Road!
From Nelson, hop aboard a helicopter for a long panoramic flight over the Kahurangi National Park as we make our way to Ghost Lake Hut. Soak up the scenery as it unfolds and be prepared to be blown away by the amazing sights that you will encounter along the way.
Kahurangi National Park will have you captivated with its marble mountains and lush primeval forests as we make our way to some of New Zealand’s far-flung and visceral landscapes. We fly over some of the spectacular scenery from the Lord of the Rings films atop Mount Owen, the park’s highest peak.
We ride through the bush and open tops from Ghost Lake Hut to Lyell Saddle Hut where we stop for lunch. Afterwards, we enjoy the big ride down to the Lyell Campsite where we meet our transport. On the way home, we stop at Murchison for a “Debrief” to finish off a day filled with adventure.
Novice riders can have the trip customized so they are dropped off at the top of the less demanding part of the trail where they can still enjoy sweeping views but skip the more challenging section of the track.
