9 Day Platinum northern Escape Tour Map

Discover the charms of New Zealand’s North Island on this 9 Day Platinum Northern Escape tour which blends one-of-a-kind and exclusive experiences with cultural and scenic highlights.

Sit down to a sumptuous lunch on Auckland’s Waiheke Island before making your way to the charming Hobbiton Movie Set, a bucolic location featured in both the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies deep in the lush farmlands of the Waikato region. Then cruise the pristine waters of Lake Rotoiti aboard a luxury catamaran to visit the village of Te Wairoa buried – which later on was excavated – during the eruption of a nearby volcano in the 1880s. You will get a chance to see the soul-stirring ‘haka’ performed in the evening alongside some traditional songs and dance. You also get to experience a native Maori feast called ‘hangi.’

After getting your fill of Maori arts and crafts, prepare to admire the Art Deco delights of Napier in Hawkes Bay, built after the 1931 earthquake. Then make your way to Wellington through the bush-clad ranges and flat plains of the Wairarapa region on the road to “the coolest little capital in the world.”
