Ride to the Lake is a guided e-bike sightseeing tour in Queenstown, following scenic trails beside the Shotover and Kawarau Rivers towards Lake Wakatipu. Allow 3–3.5 hours for the tour, plus additional time for travel to and from Frankton. A local guide, premium Moustache e-bike, helmet, gloves, snack, soft drink, photos, video and courtesy shuttle are included. Morning and afternoon departures are available. Riders must be confident cycling on a regular bicycle.

Guided Queenstown E-Bike Tour Along the Rivers and Lake Wakatipu

Follow a local guide along quieter Queenstown trails, riding beside the Shotover and Kawarau Rivers towards the shores of Lake Wakatipu. The route passes through a private sheep farm, visits a historic Shotover bridge and continues around the Kelvin Heights Peninsula, where lakefront scenery provides a memorable backdrop to the ride.

Along the way, your guide shares stories about Queenstown’s history and local landscape, including Māori legends associated with Lake Wakatipu. You’ll also visit a forest featuring sculptures by local artists. With pedal assistance from your premium e-bike, you can enjoy the mix of flatter trails and hill climbs while still taking an active part in the ride.

The Ride to the Lake route in Queenstown includes a mixture of flatter trails and hill climbs. Your premium Moustache e-bike provides pedal assistance, making the climbs easier to manage. You do not need specialist e-bike skills, but you must have previous bicycle-riding experience and be confident controlling a bike.

This tour is suitable for people who are new to e-bikes, provided you can already ride a regular bicycle confidently. You must be comfortable balancing, cornering and braking. The e-bike provides pedal assistance, but the route includes some hills and still requires active cycling.
