Sea Kayak, Stroll, Seals & Sail in Abel Tasman

This Sea Kayak, Stroll, Seals & Sail is a daily full-day Abel Tasman adventure from Marahau, combining a guided half-day kayak to Watering Cove, a 30-minute walk to Anchorage and an afternoon sail to Kaiteriteri. Check in at 8:15am, departing at 8:30am and finishing around 4:30pm. Running October to mid-April, it includes kayaking equipment, lunch, skippered sailing, tea and coffee, and a transfer back to Marahau, and suits active travellers aged 12+.

Kayak, Walk and Sail the Abel Tasman Coast

Begin in Marahau with a guided sea-kayaking journey along the southern Abel Tasman coastline. Paddling gives you a close-up perspective of the national park, with golden beaches, granite headlands, offshore islands and sheltered coves unfolding from water level. Your kayak guide takes care of the route and helps you make the most of the morning on the water before you come ashore at Watering Cove.

From Watering Cove, change pace with an easy, approximately 30-minute self-guided stroll along the Abel Tasman Coast Track to Anchorage. Here, meet the sailing catamaran in front of the DOC hut for the afternoon journey towards Kaiteriteri. Relax under sail as you travel past the park’s forested coastline, look for fur seals around Pinnacle Island and take in views of famous Split Apple Rock. After arriving at Kaiteriteri at approximately 4:30pm, a complimentary transfer takes you back to Marahau.
