From there, you will take a trip to Napier, a magical Art Deco town located in the heart of the Hawke's Bay region, where winereries are just walking distance from the town centre. Travel on to Rotorua, the geothermal wonderland of New Zealand, and visiting Taupo along the way. Rotorua's exploding geysers and boiling mud pools will definitely amaze you. Day 1Arrive Wellington

On arrival at Wellington airport, our representative will greet you and transfer you to your city hotel.At 3pm, you’ll meet your group for a guided tour of Te Papa, the museum of New Zealand.

Day 2Free Day in Wellington(B)

Today is a free day at leisure to explore the nation’s capital. There is plenty to see and do around this vibrant city such as riding the famous Cable Car up the hill to Kelburn for amazing views or a visit to Zealandia Eco Sanctuary. Another very popular excursion is a visit to the Weta Workshop, a world- leading design and special effects facility for major Hollywood film makers.

Day 3Pukaha Mount Bruce - Napier(B,D)

Enjoy a tour of the Pukaha Mount Bruce Wildlife Centre,a captive-breeding sanctuary for some of the country’s most threatened birds and home to the only white kiwi in captivity. Arriving into Napier in the late afternoon, you’re free to stroll amongst the perfectly preserved Art Deco facades and view the Sea Walls murals painted on more than 50 walls around the city.

After a leisurely morning we’ll visit New Zealand’s oldest winery, Mission Estate, established in 1851 by pioneering French missionaries. Take your time as you wander around the elegantly restored seminary building. Staff will guide you through a tasting of an exclusive selection of wines before we enjoy a contemporary fine dining, European-style lunch prepared with the freshest local produce.

Day 5Taupo - Rotorua(B,D)

Stop to view the mighty Huka Falls and fascinating Wairakei Geothermal Project before arriving at the thermal wonderland of Wai-O-Tapu. Sculptured out of volcanic activity and thousands of years in the making, this uniquely different natural landscape is considered to be New Zealand’s most colourful and diverse geothermal sightseeing attraction Tonight, visit the award winning Tamaki Village and enjoy a traditional Maori hangi (feast) and cultural performance featuring Maori songs, chants and dance, including the stirring haka.

Day 6Exclusive Lake Rotoiti Cruise & Redwood Treetop Walk(B)

Today’s highlight is an exclusive cruise across the serene, clear waters of Lake Rotoiti. Explore native bays and coves of the lake under sail on our luxury catamaran and bathe in the thermal waters of the Manupirua Pools, accessible only by boat. Later, enjoy a suspended treetop eco-walk amongst Rotorua’s gentle giants in the Redwood Forest and get a unique bird’s eye perspective of these 110 year old trees and the lush flora below.

Day 7Hobbiton - Auckland (B,L,D)

After a leisurely breakfast, we travel to Matamata and experience a guided tour of Hobbiton, the movie set used in the block-busting ‘Lord of the Rings’ and ‘Hobbit’ films. Enjoy a festive lunch at The Green Dragon Inn before travelling on to Auckland, the ‘City of Sails.
