Māori Culture and Hāngī Lunch at Mitai Village

Māori traditions, performance and kai come together during this two-hour daytime experience at Mitai Māori Village in Rotorua. See warriors paddle a waka taua along the Wai-o-Whiro Stream, take part in the pōwhiri and wero, and watch a cultural performance featuring waiata, poi and haka.

Stories about ancestral customs, weapons and instruments provide context throughout the visit, followed by a traditional hāngī buffet lunch. The experience also includes Puna Tapu, a sacred spring, and concludes with a poroporoaki farewell.
