See Queenstown and the Remarkables from 12,000ft on this NZONE tandem skydive. Check in at 35 Shotover Street, then take the included coach to the drop zone, about 20 minutes away. Expect roughly two hours there and three to 3½ hours from check-in to your return to town. Bookings are available daily, weather permitting. The experience covers your safety briefing, equipment, tandem instructor, scenic ascent, up to 45 seconds of freefall and parachute descent. It suits adventurers aged 13 and over who meet the 120cm height and 40kg weight minimums.

45 Seconds of Freefall Above Queenstown’s Alpine Playground

The anticipation builds during an approximately 15-minute scenic flight as the aircraft climbs high above Queenstown. From 12,000 feet, the scale of the surrounding landscape becomes extraordinary, with mountains, valleys and Lake Wakatipu unfolding beneath you. Harnessed securely to your tandem instructor, there’s little left to do but take in the view and get ready for the moment you leave the aircraft.

Then gravity takes over. Experience up to 45 seconds of freefall at around 200 km/h before your parachute opens and the pace suddenly changes. The adrenaline of freefall gives way to a scenic glide, allowing you to appreciate Queenstown’s dramatic alpine setting from an entirely different perspective. Sitting between the 9,000ft and 15,000ft options, the 12,000ft jump offers an impressive balance of extended freefall, spectacular scenery and serious Queenstown adventure.

All you need is a smile and a sense of adventure for your Skydive Wanaka adventure! We’ll provide the jumpsuit, helmet, goggles, and gloves.

Please wear secure shoes that won’t fall off during freefall – flip-flops, jandals, or bare feet are not allowed. In winter, wear warm clothes, preferably in layers rather than bulky clothing.

For safety reasons, you must wear closed-in shoes.

Yes, you can wear either glasses or contact lenses. We’ll provide you with goggles that fit over your eyewear so you can fully enjoy the stunning views during your skydive.

We don't skydive if the weather conditions are unfavourable—it's as simple as that. If the weather prevents you from jumping at your scheduled time, we can reschedule for later in the day or the following day, depending on the weather and your availability. It's always helpful to be flexible with your booking, just in case conditions change. Fortunately, Wānaka typically enjoys great weather, which is one of the many reasons it's a fantastic spot for skydiving!

All individuals weighing 95kg or more are subject to a Tandem Master assessment at the drop zone.

The minimum weight requirement is 40kg/88lb and the minimum height is 1.2m/47.2 inches. All passengers must fit securely into the harness.
